To be eligible for BAMS admission in Kerala for a particular academic year (It shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET, for the said academic year. However in respect of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward castes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of the candidates with bench marked disabilities specified under the rights of persons with disabilities act. 2016 and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the all India common merit list in NEET/KEAM).
In addition to NEET/KEAM qualifications candidates who have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination and have secured minimum 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and 50 % marks in Biology separately are eligible.
The number of seats available for BAMS are 75 students per year.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or the examination recognized equivalent thereto with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.
The applicant should have completed an age of 17 years on the date of admission.
The first 18 months shall be dedicated to the study of the pre-clinical subjects. No student shall be permitted to appear in third professional examination until he/she has passed in all the first and second professional subjects.
The candidate shall be awarded Ayurvedaachaarya (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree after completion of prescribed courses of study extending over the prescribed period and passing the final examination and satisfactory completion of one year compulsory internship after the final examination. Those who successfully qualify are eligible to study masters degree in Ayurveda.
