Department Of Kaumrabhritya

Department of Kaumrabhritya encompasses the entire child care right from birth. The department holds an important role as a healthy childhood is the basis of a healthy future generation. The department is involved in training the undergraduate BAMS students, house surgeons and providing clinical care both outpatient and inpatient for a wide variety of conditions in children.


Op wing

The department caters the need of public through its well functioning OP facilities. Right from the care of a healthy newborn, common childhood illness to severe conditions like intractable epilepsies is being managed effectively.

IP Wing

IP wing functions in a special pediatrics ward in the hospital block. This is equipped with all basic infrastructures for children. In patient treatment includes different panchakarma procedures according to the condition, specific modalities in Keraleeya panchakarma along with physiotherapy.

Play area

A well equipped play area is set near to the OP wing in view of creating a cordial atmosphere for the children attending the OPD.

Department organised a national seminar on Indian Paediatrics which was attended by about 300 delegates from all over India, several medical camps and awareness programme are conducted by the department.

  • Dr Arun B presented a paper on june 7 in the topic “MANAGEMENT OF FEVER AND RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS IN CHILDREN” for AMA RESEARCH FOUNDATION”
  • Dr Arun B presented a paper on june 10 in the topic “MANAGEMENT OF KRIMI VIBANDHAM AND SKIN LESIONS IN CHILDREN” for AMA RESEARCH FOUNDATION.
  • A paper was presented on june 6 for AMAI KOTTAYAM by Dr Arun B in the topic “HOW TO BE PREPARED IN ADDRESSING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC – PAEDIATRIC PERSPECTIVE IN AYURVEDA”
  • Dr Arun B was the moderator of scientific session in National seminar organized by Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda as a part of the Vaidyaratnam founder’s day celebration.
  • A paper was presented by Dr Arun B in Ayuputra series organized by “THE ARYA VAIDYA PHARMACY AVP COIMBATORE” in the topic “SYSTEMATIC MODIFICATION OF VYADHIKSHAMATVAM IN CHILDREN”
  • Dr Arun B presented a paper in Saifus Kaumarabrithyam series of classes in the topic “MANAGEMENT OF SAYYAMOOTHRAM IN CHILDREN”
  • Dr Arun B presented a paper in Saifus Kaumarabrithyam series of classes in the topic “METHODS IN MODIFYING OUR APPROACHES IN FEVER MANAGEMENT IN CHILDREN”.
  • A paper was presented by Dr Arun B regarding “Immunity in children- what parents should focus with respect to covid 19” on 26-09-2021 for KOTTAKKAL ARYAVAIDYASALA, AHAMMEDABAD, GUJARATH.
  • Dr Arun B took an awareness class for students of class 6 to 12 of SRI MAHARSHI VIDYALAYAM, NJANGATTIRI, PATTAMBI regarding “INFECTIOUS DISEASE PREVENTION” on 25-09-2021.More than 200 students were present for this class.
  • One session was given by Dr Arun B to parents of Sri Maharshi Vidyalayam, Pattambi regarding “NUTRITIOUS FOOD IN CHILDREN”as a part of “POSHAN ABHIYAN PROGRAM” of Government of India on 24-09-2021.Around 100 parents were present for the same
  • An awareness class on “DIET AND NUTRITION” was made by Dr Arun B for parents and teachers of St Joseph’s CLP School, Mundupaalam, Thrissur on 21-09-2021.Around 150 participants attended.
  • Dr Arun B took an awareness class on “BALANCED DIET IN CHILDREN” for teachers and parents of ALP School Thaikkattussery on September 16 associated with “POSHAN ABHIYAN PROGRAM” of Government of India.
  • A paper was presented by Dr Arun B for a state level seminar organized by AMAI Kannur regarding the topic “MANAGEMENT OF FEVER AND RESPIRATORY ISSUES IN CHILDREN” on September 23
  • Dr Arun B Presented a paper in the topic “HOW TO ADDRESS COMMON SKIN LESIONS IN CHILDREN- AYURVEDA PERSPECTIVE” in a webinar organized by DR SAIFUS GURU SISHYA TRAINING PROGRAM on 2-09-2021.
  • As a part of AZADI KA AMRUTH MAHOTSAV, a government of India initiative, power point presentations were prepared by department for public regarding balanced diet in children was shared to medical officers for taking classes in various parts of Kerala.
  • A paper was presented by Dr Arun B regarding “MANAGEMENT OF PAEDIATRIC SKIN LESIONS IN OUR OPD” for KSGAMOA(Kerala state government ayurveda medical officers association) on 19-102021
  • Dr Arun B presented a paper at Nangelil Ayurveda College through online mode on 28-10-2021 associated with NATIONAL AYURVEDA DAY celebrations. The topic presented was “UNDERSTANDING KRIMI – AYURVEDA PERSPECTIVES”
